Game Gear itself was a clas­sic, but revo­lu­tio­nary sys­tem. I was ama­zed by Game Gear TV and the color it offe­red com­pa­red to the Game­Boy at the time. The only thing I dread about this sys­tem was that it ate … yes ate 6 AA’ bat­te­ries in just under 4 hours. If you didn’t have an AC cord, good luck… pla­ying a game of Sonic, you bet­ter com­plete it under 4 hours. Seve­ral great games were relea­sed and it was a loud sys­tem for just being a hand held at the time. At the time, it was pri­cey for most kids to afford, when they were trying to collect both the Super Nin­tendo and Sega Sys­tems. It pas­sed slowly of into his­tory, but will never be for­got­ten. One rea­son it was a favo­rite for deve­lo­pers because the hard­ware for the Sega was nearly the same and was very easy to port.
