Update (16 August): SNES4IPhone Ver­sion 3.5.0–3 has been relea­sed. It’s been awhile since I check an ama­zed on how far they pushed the release for ever­yone to down­load. The link for the down­load  has been update. Enjoy the SNES4IPhone emu­la­tor for the IPhone. Cau­tion that this ver­sion requi­res you to use Ter­mi­nal. SNES4IPhone is a Super Nin­tendo (SNES) Emu­la­tor that has been deve­lo­ped for the IPhone and IPod Touch.  In the pre­vious and somewhat fai­led attempt in trying to play Super Nin­tendo on the Poc­ket PC, deve­lo­per ZodTTD used a port from the Dr. Poc­ketS­NES.  Rea­li­zing this would not simply work with just direct por­ting,  ZodTTD repla­ced tons of the assembly cores with C and C++ alter­na­ti­ves.  Below is a sam­ple gallery of what SNES4IPhone looks like.

To expand on your desk­top do this:

1. Open Ter­mi­nal and cd to the direc­tory of the deb file
2. Type: ar vx filename.deb

To ins­tall on your iPhone if you choose not to use Cydia do this:

1. SFTP or SCP your deb file into /tmp
2. SSH into your iPhone with Ter­mi­nal and type: dpkg –i /tmp/filename.deb

As of this time, SNES4IPhone Ver­sion 2.0.0 has been relea­sed.  It inc­lu­des sound upda­tes that now work and fas­ter game play.  Ove­rall, it has an impro­ved GUI enhan­ce­ments and bug fixes from the first SNES4IPhone ver­sion.  Keep in mind that around 89 % of the games FPS (Fra­mes Per Second) will reduce the Emu­la­tors per­for­mance in half.  What that means it may require tur­ning of the sound.  Ensure to test the game with the sound off first and have the speed hacks disa­bled.  From there, tweak it to ensure pro­per game play.

Peo­ple ask how do to ins­tall SNES4IPhone on the IPhone and IPod Touch.  You can­not do it with a nor­mal ver­sion of the phone or touch, but you would be requi­red to hack it and update it with the Jail Break in using Cydia.  In order to trans­fer ROMS, do some research on SSH tuto­rials.  If your com­pu­ter savy, this sim­ple set of ins­truc­tions are for you.
